Exploring the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox

The 2025 version of the Chevy Equinox looks a bit different from years past, with a nod to its bigger sibling, the Traverse. Not only does it look different, but it’s also 2.5 inches wider than the previous version, giving it more presence and stability on the road. There’s also a unique grille design for each of the three trim levels, as well as squared-off—rather than rounded—wheel wells, fender flares, and all-LED lighting. These exterior changes give the Equinox a bolder, sportier design, which will appeal to a number of drivers.

Another change to note is the fact that there are only three trim levels to choose from. Gone are the LS and Premier trims, making way for the new ACTIV trim, which is now the top-tier option. You’ll also find a completely redesigned center console and dashboard, giving the compact SUV a modern, streamlined vibe while ensuring you have everything you need right at your fingertips. Last but not least, each of the three trim levels is equipped with an upgraded 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder that delivers 175 hp as well as a continuously variable transmission (CVT) for a smooth ride and improved fuel efficiency when opting for front-wheel drive models. If you choose an all-wheel drive version, you’ll find the engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Now that you know a few of the changes across the lineup, let’s take a look at what each trim offers.

Chevrolet Equinox LT

The base LT trim level has an MSRP of $28,600.[a]sup> When exploring this option, you’ll find it includes the Convenience Package I, which offers perks like remote start, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and more. Additionally, safety is a strong focus across the lineup, with Chevy Safety Assist equipped throughout. For the LT trim, this means you’ll find Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, Following Distance Indicator, Lane-Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and IntelliBeam headlights as standard equipment.

For the exterior, you’ll find 17-inch Grazen metallic machined-face wheels with all-season tires. As mentioned above, you’ll also find LED lighting, both on the headlamps and taillamps. Additionally, standard heated power outside mirrors improve visibility during the winter months. The interior of the LT trim is well-planned, ensuring you and your passengers have everything you need to make both short and long trips more enjoyable. This includes features like active noise cancellation, front and rear USB ports to keep digital devices charged, an 11.3-inch touchscreen display with Google built-in, and an 11-inch Driver Information Center that offers real-time diagnostic information. Finally, you and your passengers can enjoy your favorite playlist or gain access to directions thanks to wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Chevrolet Equinox RS

One of the biggest differences between the base LT trim level and the RS trim is easier unloading and loading of cargo due to the standard AutoSense power liftgate you’ll find at the RS level. Also, the Convenience Package III is available for this middle level but is not available for the LT level. This package adds ventilated driver and front passenger seats, an eight-way power front passenger seat, driver memory settings, heated rear outboard seats, and more.

For the exterior, the RS trim has 19-inch Carbon Flash metallic machined-face aluminum wheels and all-season tires. Also, you and your passengers can enjoy more natural light when adding the optional dual-pane power sunroof. More perks when choosing the RS trim are found inside, starting with standard wireless charging. It has the same large touchscreen display and Driver Information Center as the base trim, as well as a seamless connection to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Adding to trip enjoyment, you and your passengers will enjoy dual-zone automatic climate control.

Chevrolet Equinox ACTIV

This top-tier trim level is brand new to the Equinox, having replaced the Premier trim level. Like the middle trim, it comes with a standard AutoSense power liftgate and the available Convenience Package III. For this adventure-oriented trim, the exterior is highlighted by 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, available fog lamps, optional roof rack cross rails, and heated windshield wipers. This last feature is great for the colder months, as it utilizes heated grids that are embedded in the windshield glass to ensure the wipers don’t freeze to the glass. The grids heat automatically, so you’ll be ready to safely move ahead whenever you need to.

Like the RS trim level, wireless charging is standard, as is active noise cancellation and remote start. Additionally, you’ll find that the same 11-inch Driver Information Center and 11.3-inch touchscreen display with Google built-in found in the other trim levels are also included for the ACTIV trim. As you can see, there are several similarities between the three levels, which might make it more confusing when determining which one is best for you. The good news is that you don’t have to figure it out all on your own. Simply let us know what you’re looking for—or if you’re unsure of what to look for—and we’ll start narrowing down our inventory to provide you with some great options.
